An Ebola scare in Brooklyn turned out to be a false alarm, authorities said Saturday.

A Brooklyn teen who had recently visited the Sudan was rushed to Brookdale Hospital on Friday night with Ebola-like symptoms, authorities said.

But tests completed on Saturday showed the patient does not have Ebola. “Ebola was ruled out. There are currently no patients suspected of having Ebola in New York City,” said Levi Fishman, a spokesman for the city Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Officials would not give any other information about the teen’s condition.

The 14-year old boy fell unconscious with a fiery fever in the Bergen Beach apartment he shared with his family around 6:30 p.m. Friday. He had just returned home after spending two weeks in the Sudan, in North Africa, said officials.

The current Ebola outbreak is centered in West Africa, thousands of miles from the Sudan.

The teen was rushed to Brookdale Hospital just before 7:30 p.m. Friday. He was isolated and quarantined by hospital staff as doctors tested him for the the dreaded Ebola virus.
