An elderly man died when he slipped on sidewalk ice on the Upper East Side on Sunday, police said.

The victim, 75, was walking near East 73rd Street and 2nd Avenue just before noon when he slipped and hit his head on the pavement, witnesses told authorities.

Bystanders called 911, but by the time an ambulance arrived, he was unconscious and unresponsive, according to the FDNY.

Doctors pronounced him dead at Cornell Hospital.
