An elderly man was killed and two FDNY firefighters were injured in a Bronx house fire Saturday night, police and fire officials said.

The man was in the basement apartment of the two-story home when the fire broke out soon after 10 p.m., authorities said.

More than 60 firefighters rushed to the scene to battle the blaze, a fire official said. The 70-year-old was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and pronounced dead.

Two firefighters were also treated at St. Barnabas for minor injuries, authorities said.

The man’s identity was not immediately released and an investigation into what caused the fire is ongoing.
