A high-rise fire claimed a 73-year-old woman’s life in the West Farms neighborhood of The Bronx on Saturday night. Firefighters rushed to 730 Oakland Place at 8:30 p.m. but were too late to save the victim, according to the FDNY.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. One other person suffered minor injuries and is expected to survive. The deceased lived on the 6th floor of the building, where the fire started, authorities said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
