An 89-year-old woman is dead and two more are injured after a car crash near Brooklyn’s famed “Dyker Lights” holiday-light displays, according to police.
Officials identified the dead woman as Helen Malinowski of Brooklyn.
She was a passenger in a 2013 Toyota Camry traveling north on 11th Avenue in Dyker Heights when someone driving a 2009 Kia eastbound on 81st Street slammed into them at an intersection around 2:45 p.m., cops said.
That sent the Camry careening into a third car parked near the intersection, officials said.
Malinowski suffered head trauma and paramedics took her to Lutheran Medical Center in critical condition along with her 42-year-old driver Marlene Romero and an unidentified 79-year-old. Malinowski died in the hospital.
Romero was arrested for driving without a license, but that was not considered a contributing factor to the crash, police said.
