An 80-year-old woman died Friday afternoon after she was struck by a taxi on the Upper East Side, police said.
Barbara Horn was hit as she tried to cross E. 70th Street at Third Avenue. The taxi was driving north on Third and hit Horn, who was in the crosswalk, while making a left turn, police said.
She was rushed in traumatic arrest to New York Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Driver, Syed Ullah, 49, of Brooklyn, was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian.
The accident happened at 5:40 pm.
