An elementary school worker with the NYC Department of Education is the one who needs to learn a lesson after becoming violent at an Applebee’s on Halloween, police sources said.

Maurice J. Smith has been charged with assault after a verbal dispute turned ugly Monday evening at the restaurant on 125th street in Harlem. Smith works at P.S. 169 in Flushing, Queens as a lunchroom attendant.

Officials say Smith was confronted by a female employee about a previously unpaid bill. The irate custodian then allegedly hit the woman in the face and proceeded to hurl a glass bottle at the victim, causing lacerations to her leg. The injured employee did not require medical attention for the wound.
