Mayor Eric Adams is on a diet – from the news.

The embattled Adams revealed Tuesday that he hasn’t read or listened to the news during the tumultuous past four weeks

“I sleep so much better, I just feel so much at ease,” he said during his weekly briefing with reporters.

“It’s like, almost, if you eat junk food every day you’re going to get physical obesity. I was going through mental obesity.”

Adams said his mental health is much better now that he doesn’t keep up with coverage about his very real problems, which in the past month included accusations he’s beholden to President Trump amid his federal corruption case’s pending dismissal, calls for his resignation or removal from office and his record-low approval rating.

Hizzoner’s reveal of his supposed news diet came after a reporter asked him about the political elephant in the upcoming Democratic mayoral primary: Andrew Cuomo.

The former governor recently entered the race as the front runner and has siphoned off much of Adams’ past supporters, including the husband of Brooklyn Democratic chairwoman Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, a longtime major ally to the mayor.

“Is Andrew Cuomo getting under your skin?” the reporter asked.

Adams laughed before recounting how his longtime girlfriend, Tracey Collin recently told him to try not reading the papers or listening to the news — and just rely on his staff to tell him what he needs to know.

“He can’t get under my skin because I don’t even know what he’s saying,” Adams boasted.

“I don’t have a clue what you guys have been writing for the last few weeks.”

The mayor is no stranger to dieting as a way to fix his woes.

Adams has famously contended that switching to a vegan diet — albeit an “imperfect” one in which he’s semi-regularly spotted chowing down on fish — helped save his vision and life from diabetes.
