The end is near for historic Shamrock Stables and its 32 carriage horses.

The city has sent a second letter warning Shamrock that it has to vacate the building on West 45th Street by Jan. 31 — even though the owners say the horses have nowhere to go.

The Housing Preservation and Development agency wants the space to build a school and a housing and retail development.
