This arrest gives new meaning to taking out the trash.

An ex-con was busted after he and an accomplice attacked two Sanitation workers last night as they picked up garbage in Brooklyn, police said.

Henry Rink, 28, was peeved that a collection truck was blocking his silver Dodge Charger from getting down East 96th Street in East New York at 7:30 p.m., so he jumped out and began cursing at Sanitation employee Beverly Watson, according to police and Sanitation union officials.

He then called a pal, who showed up and sucker-punched Watson’s partner, Vincent DeBlasio, as he was loading garbage into the hopper.

“I went right down, fell on my back and landed on my head,” said DeBlasio, who was treated and released at Brookdale Hospital.

The Sanit workers called 911 and Rink – who did jail time for robbery, burglary and assault – was arrested, police said.

He is charged with harassment and obstructing governmental administration.

Cops are still hunting his cohort.

The Uniformed Sanitationmen’s Association, which represents 6,000 employees, is trying to get legislators in Albany to pass a bill that would make assaulting an on-duty Sanitation a felony.

“Why get to the point of someone getting really hurt? It’s happening a little too often now. We need to get this passed,” said union president Harry Nespoli.
