Mayor Swagger has gone cloak-and-dagger.

Eric Adams’ bizarre disappearing act from the campaign trail dragged into its fifth day Wednesday, further fueling rumors he’s quiet quitting or poised to drop his likely doomed re-election bid.

The radio silence from the floundering incumbent extended to his bare-bones campaign’s staff and key supporters, who seemed to be in the dark about Adams’ plans — with Hizzoner keeping his endgame close to the vest.

One Adams campaign official, asked by The Post about the mayor’s empty schedule, simply responded with a smiley face emoji.

Adams, while eschewing campaign events, did find time in his role as mayor of the nation’s largest city to meet Wednesday with Bart De Wever, the prime minister of Belgium, the Eurozone’s sixth-largest economy.

“An internal poll has him ahead in Brussels right now in the four-way (mayoral) race,” one source close to the campaign joked.

“He doesn’t care right now. This f–king campaign has gone so crazy.”

Adams has adamantly insisted he’s staying in the race, but his AWOL approach to campaigning may indicate the writing is on the wall with barely a month before November’s election.

Polls show Adams, a Democrat running as an independent, in an embarrassing fourth place behind frontrunner Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa.

Pooh-bahs concerned about a socialist mayor, from President Trump to big business leaders, have tried to pressure candidates, especially Adams and Sliwa, to drop out to engineer a more winnable two-way race against Mamdani.

“I heard it’s a matter of time and donors are getting mad at him and Cuomo for not doing this more elegantly,” one Democratic source said.

“He’s doing what he wants to do, I guess,” another Dem source said.

The mayor’s dwindling campaign appearances coincided with his backers seemingly giving up on trying to drum up support.

Just one $4,000 contribution flowed into a super PAC supporting Adams this month.

“I’m on another call right now, but if you can try again later, maybe toward the end of the day,” the lone donor told The Post, declining the chance to boost Adams.

The pro-Adams PAC Empower NYC put out its last video ad and text message blast on Sept. 9, campaign finance records show.

By contrast, PACs supporting Cuomo and Mamdani have put out 23 campaign ads or texts in the weeks since the pro-Adams group’s last outreach to voters.

But Adams’ low-key, bordering on nonexistent campaign presence hasn’t completely extended to his mayoral duties and nightlife extracurriculars.

Instead of courting voters Tuesday, Adams apparently took time to grab dinner at the iconic Rao’s restaurant with “Shark Tank” mogul Kevin O’Leary, according to a Tuesday Instagram post.

He also hobnobbed with an Albanian TV host amid the United Nations General Assembly, another Instagram post shows.

Hizzoner also raised eyebrows and inspired mockery Tuesday for a flashy, Star of David-spangled robe he wore to a Rosh Hashanah event in Brooklyn.

“Bro is dressed like Gandalf the Goy,” one X user snarked.

“How do ya do, fellow Jews?” a Reddit poster quipped, referencing a popular meme mocking out-of-touch attempts by outsiders to fit into groups they don’t understand.

When asked about Adams’ lack of campaign events, spokesman Todd Shapiro said, “The mayor is busy with his official business and focused on United Nations Week.”
