That didn’t take long.
An escalator is already out of service at the MTA’s spanking new 7-train station, which opened on Sunday after taking 8 years to complete at a cost of $2.4 billion.
The escalator, which connects the lower platform to the upper mezzanine, first broke down at 5:39 am, but was fixed by 6:42 am.
However, the escalator was again taken out of commission at 11:05 am, in order to further adjust the handrail tension.
“This tends to happen when new escalators are broken in,” MTA spokesperson Kevin Ortiz told the Post.
Transit officials estimated the broken escalator would remain out of commission until 10 a.m. Wednesday, but it was back up and running by 5:00pm Monday evening.
