A prisoner who escaped from police custody in Staten Island was picked up in the Bronx early Friday, police announced.
Officers cuffed 41-year-old Hector Calo at the home of his ex-girlfriend in the Morris Houses around 1:15 a.m., according to officials.
Calo, a parolee, had slipped out the back door of a Tompkinsville residence after he was placed under arrest on drug charges around 7 a.m., police said. He was wearing only handcuffs and his underwear when he made his break, officials said at the time.
Calo was arrested without incident but had a loaded gun in his possession, according to cops.
He is charged with possession and sale of a controlled substance, police said, as well as possession of a loaded firearm, escaping arrest, and acting in a manner injurious to a child–because a youngster was present in the apartment where he had the loaded gun.
