Former Mayor Bloombergโ€™s press secretary had a Christmas package returned to him in the mail โ€” almost exactly a year after trying to send it 23 blocks away.

Stu Loeser tweeted about the head-scratching return Thursday and posted a photo of his battered-looking cushioned mailer, which cost $3.12 to ship.

โ€œI am generally a big fan of the โฆ@USPSโฉ, but we just had a holiday gift returned โ€“ a 2017 holiday gift, exactly 364 days after we mailed it to an address some 23 blocks away!โ€ tweeted Loeser, who now runs his own media strategy firm, Stu Loeser & Co.

The gift inside the package was a signed copy of Tina Brownโ€™s โ€œVanity Fair Diaries,โ€ which came out last year, Loeser told The Post on Friday.

He said his company sends out signed copies of books each year to clients โ€” and that this particular parcel was meant for someone at WeWorkโ€™s headquarters near Union Square.

โ€œWe sent it to a bunch of people who work at the WeWork offices on 18th Street. One person never sent us a thank-you note โ€” and now we know why,โ€ Loeser said.

Initially, staffers feared the returned package was part of this yearโ€™s batch of gifts โ€” signed copies of โ€œShadeโ€ by Pete Souza โ€” that were shipped out just last week.

โ€œOur first thought was, โ€˜Did we just send out 100 some books this year without enough postage?โ€™ โ€ Loeser recalled.

Upon closer inspection, the reappearing package included an erroneous zip code as its return address โ€” explaining its non-delivery โ€” though its whereabouts for the past 52 weeks remains a mystery.

โ€œYou still have to wonder, where was it for the last year?โ€ Loeser said.

Asked whether heโ€™ll be tossing it back in the mailbox for delivery, he quipped, โ€œIโ€™m going to hand-deliver it myself in January.โ€
