A New Jersey ex-con caught on video berating a Costco cashier — calling the woman an “old hag” — has been arrested for making terroristic threats, police said.

William Gilbert Commauf, 48, of Barnegat, was taken into custody Wednesday by Stafford Township police after he was identified in video posted to social media showing the frightening July 29 encounter he had with an employee at a Costco in Manahawkin, police said in a statement.

“Shut up,” Commauf told the female cashier, video shows. “Shut up and ring up my stuff. Shut your mouth and ring up my stuff. Shut up — do your job.”

Commauf — whose actions gave another shopper “anxiety,” she said on one clip — then turned his ire toward the cashier’s husband.

“Where’s your husband?” Commauf said. “I’ll smack him around, you old hag. Ring up my s–t, you old hag.”

Commauf also threatened to “knock out” another person not seen on the clip, video shows.

“I’ll knock you out too, you little bitch,” he said.

Commauf, who was arrested on charges of terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct, was taken into custody Wednesday at the Ocean County Jail, police said.

He remained held without bond as of early Friday, jail records show.

Commauf has a long rap sheet dating back to the late 1990s, when he served time in prison in New York state for robbery and escape, the Asbury Park Press reports.

He also previously served time behind bars in Texas for felony theft and was convicted in North Carolina in 2004 for assaulting a woman three years earlier, a crime for which he received probation and a suspended sentence, the newspaper reports.

Commauf also has a criminal history in New Jersey, where he was convicted of shoplifting last year from a Hobby Lobby store in Holmdel. He was also convicted of shoplifting twice in Woodbridge in 2018, including one incident at a Hobby Lobby, the newspaper reports.
