An alleged crank-calling ex-cop is trying to ring up a plea deal.
Manuel Lopez, 55, a retired sergeant who was in Police Commissioner Ray Kelly’s detail, is hoping to talk his way out of trouble on charges he made 21 crank calls to former mayor Rudy Giuliani, some NYPD brass and other city officials.
Judge Felicia Mennin gave Lopez — who allegedly posed as top cop’s chief aide Michael Shea in some of the calls — until Sept. 23 to work out a plea deal with prosecutors on the criminal impersonation and aggravated harassment charges he’s currently facing.
