Former Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda was recovering Tuesday after suffering a mild heart attack, the team confirmed.

Lasorda, 84, was hospitalized Monday in New York, where he had traveled to represent the Dodgers at the MLB Draft.

The team said Lasorda had a stent inserted to clear a blocked artery and was resting comfortably.

“The doctors confirmed I do indeed bleed Dodger blue,” Lasorda quipped, according to a statement issued by the team. “I’m looking forward to being back at the stadium to cheer on the Dodgers.”

The team said Lasorda was expected to be released from the hospital on Wednesday.

Lasorda has been with the Dodgers organization for more than 60 years, currently serving as “Special Adviser to the Chairman” in the team’s front office.

He managed the team to World Series titles in 1981 and 1988 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1997.
