A former lawyer for the State Thruway workers’ union will spent up to eight years in prison for theft.
Kevin Clor also will have to pay about $161,000 in restitution.
Clor apologized at his Manhattan sentencing Wednesday. He said he wants to do “whatever it takes to become a better person.”
The union’s president blasted Clor in a victim impact statement. Martin Latko called the defendant a “cold, calculating thief” who betrayed union members.
The Manhattan-based union represents more than 2,500 Thruway Authority toll collectors, grounds workers, janitors, painters and carpenters. Clor worked from a home office in Buffalo.
Clor pleaded guilty in June to grand larceny and other charges.
He was sentenced in state Supreme Court to two and two-thirds to eight years.
