A former staffer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Long Island was busted Wednesday for allegedly raping a co-worker, according to a law enforcement source and court papers.

The FBI arrested ex-maintenance worker Tate Cruse, 38, on an indictment out of the Eastern District of New York, charging him with one count each of aggravated sexual abuse, sexual abuse and making false statements.

Cruse allegedly forced himself on the woman at the VA Medical Center in Northport on Oct. 19, 2019, then lied to special agents about it, according to court papers.

It wasn’t immediately clear if he was fired for the alleged attack.

He was awaiting arraignment Wednesday afternoon before US Magistrate Judge Ann Shields in Central Islip.

Defense attorney Evan Sugar and a spokesman for the VA didn’t immediately return requests for comment.
