POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Crime scene experts are returning to an overgrown vacant lot in the Hudson Valley where skeletal remains were found over the weekend.
Police in the town of Poughkeepsie tell the Poughkeepsie Journal the bones were found Saturday by a firm conducting a preliminary site plan review on a nearly 5-acre parcel next to a firehouse.
Authorities say crime scene technicians, investigators and forensic anthropologists will excavate the area where they were found.
Police aren’t saying whether the bones are human.
A professional office park has been proposed for the site.
