Authorities are investigating the cause of an early-morning explosion that leveled an unoccupied house on Long Island.

Nassau County cops said a 911 caller reported the explosion at about 1:30 a.m.
Neighboring homes were evacuated as a precaution as firefighters descended upon the home.
A firefighter was treated for an eye injury.
