An unexplained explosion sparked a fire at a Staten Island home, officials said.

The fire started at 2:41 a.m. on the second floor of the two-story house on Richmond Terrace in Mariner’s Harbor, officials said.

Firefighters took over two hours to bring the blaze under control. One resident was rushed to Staten Island University Hospital with hand burns.

The cause is under investigation.
