Park Slope straphangers will soon have a few F-words of their own for their beleaguered subway line.
For the next 11 months, there will be no subway service along the F and the G lines between Jay Street and Church Avenue during “intermittent” weekends, officials said today.
The shutdowns will begin the weekend of Feb. 20-22. After that weekend, the next shutdown will be Feb. 27 to March 1.
Transit officials are unsure which other weekends will be affected.
“That’s no good at all. The only other train options are four avenues down or 11 blocks away,” said Josh Miller, a barista in Park Slope. “It’ll be a real pain.”
Riders will need to take a shuttle that will hit the skipped stops, including Bergen Street, Carroll Street, Smith-9th streets., 4th Avenue., 7th Avenue., 15th Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway.
The changes will affect more than 60,000 riders on the weekends.
Construction work on the Culver viaduct near Smith-9th Street is the reason for the shutdown.
The stations targeted for the weekend closures were chosen because trains can turn around at Jay Street and Church Avenue.
Park Slope residents had to endure a similar shutdown last year for the same reason.
“They don’t seem to be fixing anything. I’m so angry,” said Isabel Milenski, 37, an opera director. “The shuttle rides are grotesque. People are packed in like sardines.”
Brooklyn residents often trash the F line for slow, unreliable service and stoppages. Transit officials recently said they were reviewing the line to see what they can change.
