A factory worker at Bronx food plant says she was forced to work in an unventilated “onion room” — an area where 10,000 pounds of onions are peeled for food production every day — even though she was pregnant and suffered from severe asthma attacks, a new lawsuit says.

Aracelis Puente, of The Bronx, says she was assigned to the “onion room” at Baldor Specialty Foods in retaliation after having to take a leave from work during her first pregnancy.

Puente also accuses her bosses of criticizing her for “going to the bathroom too much.”

Baldor didn’t return messages seeking comment.
