Fake-beard gun arrest
A man wearing a fake beard and dark glasses who allegedly shot at two cops in Queens earlier this month was bagged yesterday by officers in East Harlem.
Ex-con Antonio Olmeda, 53 — who was once arrested in North Carolina toting 200 rounds of ammo while asking about security at Fort Bragg — got the surprise of his life when he stepped inside his van on 116th Street at around 8 a.m. and was surrounded by members of the US Marshals-NYPD Fugitive Task Force, cops said.
Armed with DNA evidence — from the glasses Olmeda tossed away while fleeing — cops tracked down the suspect, who they said was carrying two loaded guns.
The Queens violence began when cops noticed Olmeda acting suspiciously on a street Dec. 2
When they asked him to take his hands out of his pockets, he allegedly whipped out a revolver and fired two shots, missing the cops but sending one bullet into a dental office packed with kids.
Olmeda faces charges that include attempted murder.
