A worker has been killed after a slab of granite fell on him inside a New York City construction supply store.

Fire and police officials say the accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. in Brooklyn.

The 47-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the man was working in the store when the granite fell on his head.

The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of his family.
