Pulsating steel bands and sweet Calypso music filled Paerdegat Park as families danced, ate and partied during Citizens for a Better Community’s Family Day on Saturday.

Clowns, face painting, pony rides and games galore had youngsters smiling during the ninth annual celebration at the park at Albany Avenue and Farragut Road in Canarsie.

The day also included health and education information sessions with nurses and doctors offering blood pressure tests and information on free or low-cost insurance for families.
