The family of a model who died after being struck by a public bus while riding a bicycle is suing for information about the accident.
Blond catwalker Anna Maria Mostrom, 29, was cycling without a helmet on Roosevelt Island when she collided with a bus making a turn on Oct. 8. The Swedish beauty was left brain dead and taken off life support a week later.
The Oscar de la Renta model’s father, Ronny Mostrom, is suing the Roosevelt Island Operating Corp., a state entity, for 911 tapes, surveillance video and a witness list to help prepare a suit.
“This is a tragic, untimely death,” said the family’s attorney, Judd Kleeger.
“She was a 29-year-old, beautiful vibrant girl in the prime of her life,” Kleeger said.
He added that a redacted version of an incident report shows the bus driver was at fault.
“They’re going in opposite directions and he made a left turn in front of her so he had to yield the right of way to her,” Kleeger said.
The Roosevelt Island Operating Corp. did not respond to a request for comment.
