A Queens cyclist hit by a car thought his problems were over when he was treated at a hospital for an arm injury and released.

The following day he felt ill and returned to the medical center.

By the next morning he was dead.

Now, the family of Antonio Flores is planning to sue Elmhurst Hospital, saying it failed to give him proper medical care.

Flores, 59. who lived in Elmhurst, was riding his bike near his house on July 7 when he was hit by a car at Broadway and Baxter Avenue and went to the hospital.

Doctors performed surgery on his broken arm and released him the next day.

The following morning, he woke up screaming in pain and returned to the hospital, said his wife, Tirza Ruiz.

The hospital said an infection had spread through his body and he was dead.

Officials declined to comment.
