Fans upset at the $35 parking fee at Yankee Stadium got some advice yesterday from Mayor Bloomberg — don’t park there.
“Don’t spend it,” he recommended.
The 9,000-space garage has become a white elephant since its opening two years ago, with barely 60 percent of the spots filled during games.
Bloomberg cited competition from the nearby Hunts Point Terminal development and a new Metro-North train station that has lured fans.
The garage was built with private funds utilizing $237 million in tax-exempt bonds.
