City Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan will be on hand at Yankee Stadium today to distribute free MetroCards as part of her anti-drunken-driving campaign.

The initiative means that fans who drive to the Stadium for Opening Day and have one too many beers will have to leave their cars behind for a subway trip home. But Bomber boosters who plan on getting bombed at future games can use the cards toward a round trip and avoid a possible DWI bust.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., who will join Sadik-Kahn, said, “We have the best ‘designated drivers’ in the world in our city’s subways and buses, and if you’re going to drink on Opening Day, take the train.”
