Fare-beater squad urged
The NYPD should assign undercover cops to buses to crack down on fare beating, several officials said yesterday.
Police on Staten Island have already started such a program following a request from City Councilwoman Debi Rose.
MTA board member Allen Cappelli said he thinks that the amount lost to fare beating on subways and buses could be as high as $100 million.
