FORT LEE, N.J. — A fatal motorcycle crash has closed an approach to the George Washington Bridge into New York City.

A Port Authority spokesman says the motorcycle crashed in a bus lane near the toll plaza in Fort Lee around 3:45 a.m. Friday. The spokesman says one person was killed.

Details of what happened are not immediately available.

The Route 46 approach to the bridge’s upper level is closed and motorists are facing extensive delays.

Other approaches to the GWB are open.
