Federal agents carried out a raid and arrested “several members and associates” of the 18th Street Gang Thursday morning.

“FBI agents and partners with LAPD, HSI, IRS, DEA, and U.S. Marshals served multiple search and arrest warrants,” the FBI’s Los Angeles office wrote on X. “Illegal narcotics, cash, and other evidence were seized.”

The raid happened in Los Angeles’s MacArthur Park. No additional details were released at this time.

The feds shared two images of what appear to be a massive narcotics seizure, featuring a semi-automatic handgun, stacks of cash, and thousands of suspected illicit pills and powders.

The gang, also known as, Barrio 18, is a large, multi-ethnic, primarily Hispanic street gang originating in LA, with 30,000–50,000 members across the US, Mexico, and Central America.

The gang is known for violent crime including drug trafficking, human smuggling, and acts of violence.

The US State Department designated Barrio 18 a foreign terrorist organization and a Specially Designated Global Terrorist entity in September 2025.

“The United States will continue to protect our nation by keeping illicit drugs off our streets and disrupting the revenue streams funding the violent and criminal activity of vicious gangs and drug cartels,” the state dept. said in a September statement.

18th Street uses symbols like XV3, XVIII, X8, 666, 99, and 3-dots (Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life)) in their graffiti and tattoos. Their colors are blue and black; blue is to represent and to pay tribute to The Mexican Mafia, and black is to represent the original color for the gang.
