There have been many memorials for FDNY Lt. Chris Raguso, who died while serving in Iraq as a National Guard airman in March — but this one is personal.

“Ever since I started at the academy, I have Chris’ prayer card in my hat,” says newly-minted “probie” firefighter Anthony Dichiara, who was the airman’s friend and brother-in-law.

“And I will keep it there for the rest of my career,” he told The Post before Friday’s FDNY probationary firefighters graduation.

Dichiara was 19 when he met Raguso a decade ago. Raguso was dating, and would marry, Dichiara’s sister, Carmela.

Dichiara was already an EMT in early 2016, when Raguso inspired and encouraged him to take the FDNY’s firefighter exam.

“He would always say, ‘If you’re going to go in, go in with everything you have,” Dichiara remembers of his brother-in-law.

“‘Stay motivated. Stay focused, and just look in the future.’ Just give it all I got. I’ve always taken that and driven with that.”

Also among Friday’s graduating class is Marine Sgt. Donald Arterbury, who is slated to be deployed in January.

“It’s all coming at once,” Arterbury joked of the timing.

“I am nervous,” he said about both his Marines and FDNY careers.

“But nerves are good.”

Staying behind when he deploys will be Arterbury’s twin brother, Travis, who is also in the FDNY.
