A man posing as an FDNY firefighter was arrested at JFK Airport when police questioned him about his phony credentials, PAPD officials said.
The officers noticed Jose Vasquez sitting in a vehicle parked in a no-standing zone near Terminal 8 and told him to move along around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Vasquez showed them an FDNY placard sitting on his dashboard and identified himself as a firefighter on official business. He also presented the cops with a fire department shield and ID card, which the officers quickly determined to be fraudulent.
Vasquez was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation, possession of a forged instrument and trespassing.
