These guys and gals are smokin’.
For the first time, the FDNY will publish two sizzling calendars — one with 12 bare-chested guys, the other with 12 gals in sexy black camisoles.
“It’s the best of both worlds,” said an insider, who welcomed the all -female edition. “Looking at these women, there is no doubt they are fit to save lives.”
It’s an historic separation. Last year, the FDNY issued a single calendar, but with a man and a women featured each month.
Each hero of the month is a firefighter, EMT, or paramedic.
The FDNY now boasts an all-time high of 63 female firefighters, less than 1 percent of the force, but many more EMS women.
February’s featured firefighter, Sophy Medina of downtown’s Engine 9, posed at Randall’s Island training academy, flames blazing behind her.
EMT Shawna Mitchell-Amato of Station 55 in The Bronx graces the first all-girl cover, while Firefighter Louis Holmes of Engine Company 10, next to Ground Zero, adorns the all-male cover.
The separate calendars, which sell for $15.95 apiece, promise to boost profits for the FDNY Foundation, a not-for-profit that promotes fire-safety education.
