This fire truck really lived up to its name.

An FDNY ladder hot off the repair line went up in flames on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, snarling traffic Wednesday afternoon, according to the department.

The truck, which was not being used for emergency responses was being hauled toward Brooklyn over the span’s upper level when it caught fire for unknown reasons around 3:10 p.m., the FDNY said, adding it had the situation under control by 4 p.m.

A video posted to Twitter shows black smoke and flames issuing from the truck while firefighters try to quench the conflagration.

No injuries were reported.
