
Fed $$ will do ‘job’: gov
A quick $30 billion could be Sandy’s silver lining for New York.
“That’s a lot of jobs, a lot of construction, a lot of activity,” Gov. Cuomo said yesterday about President Obama’s $60.4 billion request for tri-state Sandy-recovery aid — with about half earmarked for New York.
Cuomo may get his wish for a speedy approval of the hurricane-relief money.
Rep. Peter King (R-LI) has said House Speaker John Boehner wants to treat the package as “emergency spending,” which could speed approval.
