Two Americans were extradited from Romania to New York yesterday to face charges that they plotted to provide the Taliban with high-tech weapons to protect their heroin labs from the American military.

Alwar “Allan” Pouryan and Oded “Dedy” Orbach — both naturalized US citizens — were busted in Bucharest in February after getting caught in a sting operation mounted by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

A Manhattan federal-court indictment alleges they met with an undercover DEA informant over two days and offered to sell him Russian surface-to-air missiles for use against American helicopters in Afghanistan.
