Federal agents seized a record number of drugs in New York state in 2018, including more than half a billion dollars of the opioid painkiller fentanyl.
That’s enough to kill hundreds of millions of people, the DEA’s New York division said Thursday.
“Fentanyl is the most lethal drug threat on our streets today because it is cheap, it is unregulated [and] it is being mixed with other drugs,” Special Agent Ray Donovan said.
