Fender bender fraudsters ripped off a 74-year-driver’s car when she tried to exchange insurance information with one of them last week in Queens, footage released by cops Tuesday shows.
The victim’s SUV was struck by the suspect’s white sedan as she was stopped at the corner of 109th Ave. and 120th St. in Ozone Park around 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 19.
When the woman got out of the car to check the damage and write down the other car’s license plate number, the man became aggressive and blocked her view as his female accomplice began reversing to get away, the footage shows.
The man then walked around to the driver’s side of the victim’s SUV and sped off with the woman in the other car close behind and leaving the elderly woman standing in the middle of the street.
She was uninjured.
In a similar incident in Astoria, a 73-year-old man was attempting to park his car near 44th St. and 25th Ave. on Sept. 13 when two suspects drove up and falsely accused of damaging another car.
One of the suspects then got out of the car, as did the old man, who left his keys in the ignition as he got out to check for damage.
The suspect then got behind the wheel of the car and drove off with the other suspect following behind.
The victim was not harmed.
Police found the stolen vehicle hours late in Long Island City.
No arrests have been made in either case.
