A fire at the newly reopened Gallagher’s Steakhouse in Midtown drove diners from the popular restaurant and left others who had dinner reservations out on the street.

The small blaze, which was sparked in the steakhouse’s duct work, broke out around 6:15 p.m. and caused no injuries but left some hungry meat lovers in the lurch, according to fire officials.

“We are in New York for one more night and wanted to go for a great meal,” said Mike Doll from Alberta, Canada, who was with his wife and two kids. “We heard Gallagher’s is the place to go. Now I guess we’re gonna have get hot dogs from one of the cart vendors.”

The famous steakhouse, known for its aged and tendered meat, had a relaunch just last month.

The flames were under control by about 7:00 p.m. and the incident was “fairly minor,” according to fire department officials.

An employee at the restaurant said they would be open for business as usual at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
