Over 200 people had to be evacuated from a Delta flight on the tarmac at JFK on Monday evening after a small brake fire erupted in the wheels.

Delta Flight 420 to Accra, Ghana, was already headed back to the gate because of a problem with its airspeed indicator when the brakes overheated, a Delta spokeswoman said.

Video posted on the Citizen app showed billowing smoke coming from the underside of the airplane on a runway at around 7:30 p.m.

The FDNY responded to Terminal 7 for the two-alarm fire and Port Authority officials said they were able to put out the flames coming from the Boeing 767’s wheelwell.

The 250 passengers and 8 crew members on board were evacuated, Delta said. I’ts unclear if or when they’ll be put on another flight.
