A fire erupted at a historic New York City church overnight, injuring four FDNY firefighters.
Firefighters say the blaze was reported Wednesday night at the Baptist Temple church in Brooklyn. The church was built in the 1890s and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995 for its architectural and engineering significance.
Firefighters say the flames didn’t spread beyond the church and were deemed under control by early Thursday morning. They haven’t determined how much damage was done.
Four firefighters suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined.
