Guests at the New York Hilton awoke to smoke and sirens on Sunday morning as firefighters responded to a blaze at the Midtown hotel tower.

The flames erupted in a fourth-floor banquet room of the 45-story building on Sixth Avenue at West 54th Street at around 7 a.m.

The rubbish fire may have been the result of an electrical issue, sources said.

“Elderly folk struggling down from 42nd floor lugging suitcases,” Twitter user Ross Coulthart posted.

One person suffered minor injuries due to smoke filling the area and was treated by EMS at the scene.

The blaze is under investigation.
