A four-alarm blaze roared through a Brooklyn row house last night and spread to three other buildings, killing two men — including a beloved neighborhood resident who jumped to his death to escape the searing smoke and flames, authorities said.

The fire erupted on the top floor of a three-story frame building at 16 Covert St. in Bushwick at 9:16 p.m. and quickly spread to homes on either side, said Deputy Assistant Chief Bill Seelig. It was under control at 10:15 p.m.

“I could feel its heat from across the street,” one neighbor said.

A 45-year-old tenant jumped from his bedroom window on the third floor to a courtyard below, authorities said. The body of another man was inside the home.

Their names weren’t immediately released.

Neighbors said the 45-year-old man was a beloved figure known as “Uncle Jiggs.”

“He knew every single body on this block,” said a distraught Gregory Satchell, 20. “When we were kids, he would take us to the store for candy. Everyone loves Uncle Jiggs.”
