Panicked shoppers ran screaming from the Staten Island Mall on Saturday afternoon when pranksters set off fireworks near the second-floor food court.

Emergency vehicles, bomb-sniffing dogs and helicopters converged on the scene after frightened mall-goers mistook the blasts for gunfire and called 911.

“I heard what sounded like 10 shots,” said shopper Brenda Rodriguez, who was at the food court with her daughter. “There were a lot of people on the floor crying.”

A shopper from Brooklyn named Khadra said she was in a fitting room when the manager started screaming, “Get out! Get out! Get out!”

“It was crazy,” said Khadra, who didn’t reveal her last name.

One food-court worker said shoppers dived behind garbage cans for cover.

The mall was back in business an hour later.
