Two firefighters were injured battling a furious blaze at a recycling plant in the Bronx that took nearly seven hours to tame, officials said.

The five alarm fire started when a machine exploded sometime after midnight at the East 135th Street facility in Port Morris.

It was not immediately clear what caused the machine to blow.

The fire was brought under control just before 7 a.m. The two firefighters were treated for minor injuries, officials said.
