Firefighters plucked a man from the East River Friday morning, authorities said.

The man was spotted near East 81st Street shortly after midnight by an FDNY boat responding to a 911 call, authorities said. The man was alert and conscious.

The boat brought him ashore at East 34th Street and then transported him to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, authorities said.
